Home Soft Washing or Pressure Cleaning, Which Is Better?
One of the frequently asked questions we get at Westchester Power Washing is, what is best, soft washing or pressure cleaning?
The answer depends on what the surface is that is to be cleaned. When it comes to getting your home exterior professionally cleaned, your home will probably need both, soft washing and pressure cleaning services.
To begin, we will explain the difference between soft washing and pressure cleaning.
Soft-Washing Process Explained
Soft washing means using low water pressure to wash your home. Soft washing is best achieved using a soft washing system as we use at Westchester Power Washing. Our self-contained soft washing system uses low pressure at around 175 psi to gently spray water on your siding, roof, and other surfaces.
In addition to the low water pressure, we use a cleaning solution that is sprayed out with the water to clean your home of dirt, mold, mildew, moss, and lichens. This gentle spray allows the cleaning solution to be absorbed, killing the mold spores thus preventing them from regrowing and causing more damage to your home.
After the solution is absorbed, we then gently spray water washing away the dirt, black streaks, mold, mildew, and fungus from your home. Your home will be visibly cleaner and its curb appeal restored.
Pressure Cleaning Process Explained
Pressure cleaning is the use of a pressure washing machine to use high pressure, up to 4000 psi to aggressively clean hard surfaces such as concrete, stone, and brick.
Most pressure washing companies use a pressure washing machine that is dragged around your property along with cleaning solutions. This process can leave bleach spilled all over your property, damaging your grass and foliage.
As an established company with more than 32 years of washing homes throughout Westchester, Putnam & Dutchess County, we have seen many of our competitors do great damage to people’s homes. To provide a better pressure cleaning service, we upgraded our pressure cleaning system when we installed our new soft washing system so our pressure washing is also self-contained.
We use a hose system that is reeled out from our truck and the cleaning solution is injected into the water eliminating the need to use a standard pressure washer or drag cleaning solutions around.
This helps us provide efficient, fast, and effective pressure cleaning without disturbing or damaging your home or property as other companies do.
Other questions we often get are,
Why does Westchester Power Washing only soft-wash siding?
What happens when you pressure wash siding?
Why Our Soft-Washing System is ALWAYS BETTER than Pressure Washing Siding:
- Soft Washing Doesn’t Damage Your Home
- Soft-Washing Uses Less Water
- Soft-Washing Gives Longer Lasting Results
- Soft-Washing is Safe For All Building Materials
- Soft-Washing Leaves Surfaces Cleaner
- Soft-Washing Kills Spores & Moss On Contact
- Soft-Washing Leaves Your Home Siding & Roof Sterilized
Never Pressure Wash Your Siding!
As mentioned above, our soft washing system uses low water pressure to gently wash your siding. The difference between 175 psi and 4000 is almost like the equivalent of driving 1 mile an hour and 100 miles an hour when blasting water against a surface inches away. This level of power is only meant for hard surfaces, never soft surfaces such as siding or your roof.
- Never Use A Power Wash or Pressure Wash Machine On Your Siding
- (Make sure a Soft Wash System is used!)
- Beware of the Bait & Switch:
- Inexperienced contractors say they soft wash but show up with a pressure washing machine. Ask specifically for a self-contained Soft-Wash System!
- Power Wash Machines Force Water Under Siding Leading To Water Build-Up Between Siding & Walls Causing Unseen Hazardous Mold Growth For Your Family To Breathe
- Pressure Washing Machines Crack Siding, Blow Off Loose Pieces, Streaks
- Siding, Causes Paint To Chip, Rip Window Seals & Screens
NOTE: Only Use A Pressure Washer On Hard Surfaces Like Stone, Brick, Concrete & Pool surfaces – Never Your Siding or Roof.
